Detailed Itinerary

Lake Titicaca 2D/1N: Uros, Taquile & Lakeside Lodge Immersion

Day 1

Uros, Taquile, and Lakeside Evening

Journey Across the Sapphire Waters

We begin with a transfer from your hotel in Puno to the port. Boarding our boat, we set out onto the vast waters of Lake Titicaca.

The Floating World of Uros

Our first stop is the Uros Floating Islands. You’ll learn how these unique islands are constructed and maintained using native totora reeds, and discover the history and lifestyle of the Uros people.

Taquile Island: Textiles and Traditions

We continue navigating toward Taquile Island. Upon arrival, a gentle hike takes us through the island's pathways, offering stunning views. We'll visit local textile workshops, where the community is renowned for its weaving artistry. A typical lunch, prepared by a local family, will be served.

Evening at the Lakeside Lodge

In the afternoon, we transfer by boat to your lakeside lodge. Check into your private matrimonial room and take time to relax, absorb the incredible scenery, and enjoy the tranquility of the lake. A local dinner is included before settling in for the night. (Check-in: 1:00 PM).

Day 2

Sunrise and Return to Puno

Sunrise Over Titicaca

Wake up to witness a spectacular sunrise over the lake. Enjoy a local breakfast at the lodge featuring regional Andean products.

Leisurely Morning and Return

You'll have some free time to walk along the shore or simply relax and enjoy the views. After check-out (10:00 AM), we board the boat for the return journey to Puno, transferring you directly back to your hotel.

Recommendations
  • Altitude Preparation: Puno and Lake Titicaca are at high altitude (3,800m / 12,500ft). We recommend spending at least one day in Puno to acclimatize before the tour.
  • What to Bring: Warm clothing (layers are essential, as temperatures drop significantly at night), sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), comfortable walking shoes.
  • Cash: The lodge does not accept credit cards. Bring cash (Peruvian Soles) for any extra expenses.
  • Dietary Restrictions (CRITICAL): As noted, the lodge cannot accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free (Celiac), or severe allergy restrictions due to the remote location and traditional cooking methods.
  • Ecological Bathrooms: The lodge utilizes ecological bathrooms (biodigesters). Guests must strictly follow instructions (no paper or trash in the toilet) to prevent damage to the system, which cannot be repaired on the same day.
Frequently asked questions

Clearing Your Doubts

How cold does it get at night on the lake?

Nights on the Altiplano are cold year-round, often dropping near freezing. While the lodges provide plenty of warm blankets, it is essential to bring warm pajamas, thick socks, and jackets for the evening and early morning.

What are the facilities like at the lodge?

The lodges offer a comfortable, authentic experience but are rustic by design. Rooms are private, but electricity may be limited (often solar-powered), and Wi-Fi is usually unavailable. Bathrooms are ecological (dry toilets). It’s an opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the environment.

I have dietary restrictions. Can they accommodate me?

Unfortunately, due to the remote nature and reliance on traditional local ingredients, the communities and lodges cannot guarantee meals free from specific allergens, nor can they accommodate vegan or gluten-free diets. Meals are typically hearty Andean staples.

Is the hiking on Taquile difficult?

The hike on Taquile involves a gradual ascent on stone pathways. While not technically difficult, the high altitude makes it feel more strenuous. We take it slow, allowing plenty of time to rest.

Machu Picchu Tour

Date of experience:September 2025

The one-day tour to Machu Picchu is well organized and the scenic train is lovely. The guide was friendly and explained everything well during the visit. I felt the time inside Machu Picchu was a bit tight to take it all in calmly, but I understand there's a set time limit for visitors. Overall, it met my expectations.

Excellent service

Date of experience:September 2025

It was a refreshing experience to explore the history and landscapes over these four days — every destination, from Moray to Ollantaytambo, left us wanting to learn more. Machu Picchu was without a doubt the highlight, though at times it was quite crowded, which made it a little harder to enjoy peacefully — still, everything was made easy to manage. Totally worth it!

A different and relaxing experience🙂‍↕️

Date of experience:August 2025

We took the valley tour with an outdoor picnic and the views were stunning! The peacefulness of the place made everything feel so different and special! The only thing was that time flew by — we would have liked to stay a bit longer to enjoy the scenery in the evening light. Still, it was totally worth it and I'd recommend it for anyone looking for something different and peaceful near Cusco.

Great experience.

Date of experience:July 2025

The 5-day tour was really great overall. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, and the private city tour of Cusco was a great way to get oriented. Visiting Moray and Maras with the picnic was a unique experience, and seeing Machu Picchu was definitely a highlight. The full-day hike to Vinicunca was tough but rewarding, though I wish there had been a bit more time to rest afterward. Still, the trip was well organized and comfortable, and I would definitely recommend it.
